Drag Talon Buidlup
What started life as your typical 1996 Eagle Talon TSi AWD is now quite a bit different! The first task on hand was to strip the car,
this did not take long at all. At the hands of 4 people we had the car stripped down to bare rolling chassis in an afternoon.
After the chassis had been stripped we took a good look at it to figure out exactly how we should put in a roll cage. There we many long conversations
as to where to mount each of the 10 points, how and where we should tie in additional points for added rigidity and just eactly how to do things to be
able to access the whole way around the tube for welding.
In the end we decided to build a half box for the hoop mounitng plates, thus allowing us to dip the cage to fully weld it up. The rear mounitng point would
be the strut towers as they are naturally designed to handle a lot of load, it would also help eliminate any need for a bar connection the two of them. In the
front of the car there are two flat spots that just looked like a good place. So onward we pushed to install our base plates for the cage.
