Drag Talon Buidlup

Once the base plates for the cage had been installed it was time to start in on the main hoop. To help us bend the tube we had picked up a Pro-Tools Tubing Bender with a die for 1 5/8" tubing and 6" CLR. We decided to fab up our own mounting pedastel and instead of purchasing the lever arm, a simple piece of rectangular tube worked perfectly.

     

We then dove straight in to bending and produced the full main hoop within minutes of assembling the bender. Thankfully we had made a cardboard template to follow so we could easily confirm our bends would match up exactly how we wanted them too without having to remove the tubing from the bender all the time.



With our first bends out of the way it was time to take a look at how we did. The main hoop follows the lines of the car exactly how we had planned!
